Narratives from the Revolution

Following the events of the October 17th Revolution in Lebanon, my professor decided to shift the course briefs and projects to fit in contextually with the situation we were then living in. Following that, we decided to combine all our comics in a book called: قصص مثوّرة: Narratives from the Revolution. I worked on two comics:
1) The Killer Hand: In this comic, the people in power represent a hand, a hand that is willing to light your cigarettes over and over again. The problem with this seemingly helpful hand is that it does not know when to stop. It starts to set fire not only to your cigarette, but to your nose, mouth and face. It reaches for your throat, and it finally kills you. What happened on October 17th in Lebanon is merely us, deciding that we can, in turn, kill this hand, and light our cigarettes by ourselves.

2) The Whatsapp Revolution: Some people refer to our revolution as the WhatsApp revolution, meaning it happened because of the proposal of adding a WhatsApp tax that everyone is obliged to pay. To them I say, our revolution is in fact a WhatsApp revolution, it is also an Instagram, a Twitter and a Facebook one at that. It is everywhere, and it happened because of everything.
